Player Code of Conduct

In order to advance the principles of sportsmanship and fair play, and to promote mutual respect among players, coaches, and referees, KPBA has established a Player Code of Conduct.

  • Be sensitive to the physical and emotional well-being of their teammates and opponents.
  • Respect all coaches, players, league officials, scorekeepers/timers, referees and spectators.
  • Obey all rules outlined in this Player Code of Conduct during all games, practices, tournaments, and any other KPBA event.
  • Understand that you have been granted a roster spot on the basis of a competitive tryout (thereby taking a position that others may have wanted) and make a full commitment to be present at, and prepared for, all practices, games, tournaments, and other events.
  • Notify the coaching staff in advance of scheduling conflicts and absences due to illness or injury.
  • Follow the directions of the coaching staff.
  • Follow team policy as established by the coaching staff.
  • Treat all public property/facilities (home and away) with respect and clean-up after yourselves.
  • Represent the towns of Norfolk, Plainville and Wrentham with pride, dignity, and good sportsmanship.
  • Be drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free at all KPBA events.
  • Technical fouls- If you receive a technical foul in a game you will sit on the bench for the remainder of the game and refrain from speaking to any coach, player or referee. If you get a second technical during that same season, you will sit on the bench for the remainder of that game and will not be allowed to play in the following game. The game suspension rule increases each time you receive a technical foul.   KPBA will strictly enforce this rule.

  • Question a call or decision made by any referee, official, or coach.
  • Use abusive or profane language.
  • Taunt or humiliate any player, either teammate or opponent.
  • Abuse, mistreat or mishandle any KPBA or league equipment or property.

All violations of the Player Code of Conduct shall be addressed on an individual basis and in accordance with a procedure established by the KPBA Board.   Violations will be addressed in a fair and timely manner.   Action take by the KPBA Board may include, but are not limited to, a reduction in player playing time and/or the termination of the player's privilege to participate in, or attend, any KPBA sponsored activity.
